Merry Christmas!

Check out my new wheels!

I can honestly say that this was a Christmas to remember. Josh and I woke up to a crying Oakley at 7:00am and realized the reason he was crying was because he was in the dark. (I usually keep a night light on so I can see my way around in the middle of the night.) Yes, our power was out. I have to hand it to the power company it was only out for 3 hours. For it being Christmas I didn't think that was too bad. So, we made our way into the familyroom and opened up all the shutters hoping to get some light in the house. The downfall was that we also let in the cold air. When opening the shutters we realized that it never stopped snowing from the night before. Now if it had just been snowing it probably wouldn't have been so bad, but because of the high winds we had drifts that were at least 3 feet (if not higher) in some areas of our yard. The pictures that I posted were of the view out our front door and out our slider into the backyard. My mom decided she was going to bear the roads and drive over anyway...gee it was only a 40 minute drive for living 15 miles away. Oakley was a hoot this year. He didn't quite understand what the the heck was going on, but he loved his new 4 wheeler and rode it around the house crashing into all the furniture. The rest of the day was pretty lazy and I thought the excitement had passed, but I was wrong. We ended up calling the fire department around 10:00pm because one of our carbon monoxide detectors kept going off. We figured the battery was bad so we changed it, but the detector continued to chirp at us. Being the worry wart that I am I insisted that we have the house checked. Now I figured a small red truck would show up with maybe 2 guys...oh no, the big ole fire truck showed up. Our neighbors are sweethearts they of course called immediately to make sure we were all ok. Good news is the house was clear and there was zero trace of carbon monoxide. Needless to say we'll be changing all the smoke detectors and carbon monoxide detectors in the house. Thanks Richmond American for faulty alarms. I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas...I'd love to hear from you!

We'll miss you!

It is with great sadness that I write that our family has lost a loved one. Bill (Josh's stepbrother) lost his battle with cancer last night and went home to be with Our Lord. He leaves behind a beautiful wife, son, and mother. Not to mention several siblings that love him very much. I met Bill, Steph, & James for the first time when Josh and I went to Wisconsin with Harv and Carol for Christmas in 2002. I cherish memories such as these because when we lose someone memories are all we have to hold onto.

Baby #2 is on the way!

At this point I'm assuming that most of you know that Josh and I are expecting our second baby in June 2009. We are very excited and surprised at how quickly we got pregnant this time around. We agreed that we were ok with getting pregnant again once Oakley turned 1. I just didn't know we meant exactly when he turned 1, but I will take the Blessing with open arms and not ask questions. For those of you doing the math our kids will be all of 21 months apart. Yes, I will have my hands full.

I had my monthly doctors appointment yesterday and baby is doing well. The doctor did another ultrasound because they thought I was measuring big so they wanted to make sure there was only one baby in there. Can you imagine? Two newborn twins and a 21 month old. They determined there's only one baby so I guess that just means I'm getting fat. (sigh of relief) Hopefully we'll find out whether it's a girl or boy at the end of January. I'm feeling another boy, but everyone else is telling me it's a girl. We shall see.

Yeah I'm Blogging!

I have officially started our family blog. Family and friends are always asking for pictures and updates on our family so I figured this was a great way to inform everyone and you can all read at your leisure. This doesn't mean that I don't like getting your emails so keep sending them. I guess you can say we are officially Utahns for now we are blogging.
